If these current politicians had been writing the original Constitution, there would have been no US

The Continental Congress compromised to form the US. But these guys would have shut it down and go their separate ways.
Latin America is a good example. Simon Bolivar wanted to have one country, but he died then his generals could not agree to a unified Latin America. They then just divided up land and each general got his own country.

This crop of republicans is loyal only to money. Britain had the the money, the US was decades away from even talking about forming a unifying currency. They would have been "company-men" and focused on keeping the shipments of wood going back across the Atlantic.
