This driver is what I call a hopeless case.

SEVEN drunk-driving arrests?

Sheesh.

NEW BERLIN, Wis. —A truck crashed into a home in New Berlin on Thursday.

Authorities said the driver, a 44-year-old New Berlin man, is facing his seventh drunken-driving charge.

The homeowner, Randy Policht, picked up pieces of the truck, which plowed into his home while he was relaxing in his recliner.

"All of a sudden, a big crash, almost 100 decibels, glass flying everywhere," Policht said. "I flew off the chair (and) ended up on the floor."

that drunk-driving should be penalized more severely in order that no one with multiple offenses is able to legally drive - ever. I would have no problem with a nationwide law that stripped away driving privileges for life after three offenses.

accept I would do it this way after three a 10 year ban if it happened again after that after two offenses 15 year ban and if it happened even once again life time ban

this morning. Sort of funny that the police found him in a bar still drinking. He probably could not even stand up straight much less drive.

By continuing to drink, he clouds the issue of exactly what his BAC was at the time of the accident.

I can say that because EVERY PERSON who drives a vehicle KNOWS it is both DANGEROUS and
ILLEGAL to drive while INTOXICATED and some PURPOSELY get behind the wheel just to prove they
can either kill themselves, someone else or not.

7. This Guy Needs Help. Starting with a stay behind bars to maybe get a clue.

Normally, I'm not for incarcerating anyone if it can be avoided. I don't really think we do any rehabilitation in our prison system. It's more of a warehouse of people.

In this case, this guy is clearly a danger to himself and others and seems to show no understanding of what he's really doing. I'd be for incarcerating him in the county jail for about 90 days to dry out followed by an in-residence treatment program where he is confined to the treatment center for the duration of treatment.

8. Why does this guy have a drivers license after six drunk driving convictions?

Driving is a privilege, not a right.

His license should have been pulled a long time ago.

and probably no insurance either.

It's happened to me, twice in fact. That's why I carry uninsured and under-insured coverage.

Of course that's of no help if you're killed by one of these scoff laws.
