SEVEN drunk-driving arrests?
Sheesh.
NEW BERLIN, Wis. A truck crashed into a home in New Berlin on Thursday.
Authorities said the driver, a 44-year-old New Berlin man, is facing his seventh drunken-driving charge.
The homeowner, Randy Policht, picked up pieces of the truck, which plowed into his home while he was relaxing in his recliner.
"All of a sudden, a big crash, almost 100 decibels, glass flying everywhere," Policht said. "I flew off the chair (and) ended up on the floor."

(25,941 posts)that drunk-driving should be penalized more severely in order that no one with multiple offenses is able to legally drive - ever. I would have no problem with a nationwide law that stripped away driving privileges for life after three offenses.

(30,947 posts)this morning. Sort of funny that the police found him in a bar still drinking. He probably could not even stand up straight much less drive.

(14,557 posts)I can say that because EVERY PERSON who drives a vehicle KNOWS it is both DANGEROUS and
ILLEGAL to drive while INTOXICATED and some PURPOSELY get behind the wheel just to prove they
can either kill themselves, someone else or not.

(5,756 posts)Normally, I'm not for incarcerating anyone if it can be avoided. I don't really think we do any rehabilitation in our prison system. It's more of a warehouse of people.
In this case, this guy is clearly a danger to himself and others and seems to show no understanding of what he's really doing. I'd be for incarcerating him in the county jail for about 90 days to dry out followed by an in-residence treatment program where he is confined to the treatment center for the duration of treatment.

His license should have been pulled a long time ago.

It's happened to me, twice in fact. That's why I carry uninsured and under-insured coverage.
Of course that's of no help if you're killed by one of these scoff laws.
