You are 8 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist

Statistics from a 2004 National Safety Council report, the National Center for Health Statistics, the U.S. Census Bureau, and 2003 mortality data from the Center for Disease Control

It seems kind of common sense to me since we're surrounded by police officers on a daily basis and not many terrorists appear to have infiltrated my suburban locale.

Tasers when they should have restrained manually, guns when they should have used tasers. Selectively using more force on certain types of people. Shooting first, asking questions later. A general authoritarian attitude just because they like to let you know they are the powerful one and you must obey.

Unfortunately, those that pay and train them want them that way I suppose. They are no longer there to "protect and serve" the people, but the corporate power structure.

I'd suggest it's a wash.

But I'll ask a statistician friend of mine. This might pique his interest.
