A bi-partisan effort in Congress to deal with sexual assault in the military

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY is leading the effort in the Senate while Rep. Dan Benishek, R-MI01 is doing the same in the House. I ask fellow DUers to contact their Senators and Reps and ask them to support the legislation that removes "the power to pursue prosecution from commanders and bestow the responsibility on military lawyers".

"Dear Senator Stabenow,

I recently read an article in the Detroit News where it was stated that you had not made up your mind yet on whether or not to allow commanders to continue to make prosecution decisions. I implore you to seriously consider supporting Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's efforts to pass legislation that would remove the power to pursue prosecution from commanders and instead place the responsibility on military lawyers.
I thank you for your time and efforts!

it would be on less sexual assault and a healthy military. A healthy military does not include troops that have been sexually assaulted, are in fear of it, and cannot get their concerns heard and the guilty removed. That goes for men and women that have been sexually assaulted.
