In all seriousness, this silly region bashing needs to cease (which I'm sure was your point). It's naive and foolish, and fails to recognized how mixed-together our disparate political views are in this country.

How can you bash the West without including Rick Perry and Jan Brewer? And Louie Gohmert for goodness sakes. I think I'd have a very hard time deciding whether it's he or Bachmann who is the most batshit crazy in the house.

I live in Oregon but Greg Walden is not my rep. He's the rep for OR-2. A huge area that covers everything east of the Cascades. It's a red-state over there and I don't think they are particularly fond of us blue-staters over here in Portland and Salem. I don't expect him to go anywhere anytime soon.

I saw that tea bagger map.

The tea baggers are located all over.

Lets pick on every state that has republicans in office.

That is every state in the union.

Lets not leave anybody out.

If you have a tea bagger or a republican office holder in your state it is your fault.

Doesn't matter if you never vote republican or never had voted republican.

Yeah, the picking on the southern states gets old.

We should all have skin in the game.

One republican is to many.

That doesn't get you off the hook.

Somebody votes for those republicans in the state house.

I have never voted for a republican, never.

I started voting in 1971.

The rules are no republicans period, in any office.

One even with no power is to many.

Get rid of all the republicans and check back.

We had a democratic Lt.Gov names Bill Hobby for 18 years.

Those were the days.

three of them are Republicans, not even enough to make the Senate deal with a piece of GOP proposed legislation (7 are required). There are 36 Dems in the State Senate (one vacancy)

The current composition of the House is 128 Democrats and 32 Republicans.

about the poor, mizundustood, picked on Southwest.

We have big problems, and we know it.

So please, send as much cash as you possibly can to support our lefty Dem candidates at election time, and help us rid ourselves of the pesky conservative black mold that puts a yukky scum all over our beautiful natural landscapes.

but it's a hard battle in the southern part of the state. At least here there are enough Catholics to keep the evangelicals and Mormons under some sort of control, give them humility instead of the hubris they display elsewhere.

Rural people are still suckers for CBN, though, letting the TV do their praying for them while getting their daily dose of propaganda.

Places aren't people. People give the human society in places its strengths and weaknesses. No society, in any place, is a single mindset of drones.
