The media's definition of "center" is very slightly socially moderate(I.E., being nice to gays...at least THIS year)and economically/fiscally reactionary(smash the remaining unions, cut social spending to the bone, deregulate the corporate world.)
It's not the "center" as anybody on Earth knows it. It is, basically, neofeudalism as most of the planet knows it.
Basically, this is about trotting out the "Washington Consensus" of the Nineties in vaguely hipster drag.
