http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/21/tim-griffin-reelection_n_4135542.html<snip>
Rep. Tim Griffin (R-Ark.) announced Monday that he will not run for a third term.
"We have decided that now is the time for me to focus intently on my top priority, my family, as Elizabeth and I raise our two young children, he told Talk Business Arkansas. To that end, I will not seek reelection to a third term. I will complete my second term, but I have made no decision as to my plans after Congress except that I will continue in public service, including as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve."
The announcement comes as something of a surprise, considering that Griffin appeared to have a full-fledged reelection campaign going. He raised over $208,000 in the third quarter of 2013 for his reelection and had over $540,000 in cash on hand, despite having no announced Democratic opponent.
The congressman blasted President Barack Obama, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for their "violent rhetoric" in a recent tweet sent while the U.S. Capitol was on lockdown due to shots fired. He later deleted the tweet.

Violent rhetoric? Whose moron???

(9,033 posts)7. Awfully sudden, given he has raised / has a lot of cash on hand
and no opponent. KKKarl's little friend--how shocking and unexpected a scandal would be!

The most worn out political cliche there is.
Look for him to sign on with some sleazy PAC and he'll be spending even less time with his family.

The Arkansas Times reports that the controversial U.S. attorney in Arkansas, Tim Griffin, has resigned:
The U.S. Justice Department has notified Arkansass congressional delegation that Interim Eastern District U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin is resigning effective Friday, June 1.
Griffin, a former protege of Karl Rove, was formerly research director of the Republican National Committee. In 2004, BBC News published a report showing that Griffin led a caging scheme to suppress the votes of African-American service members in Florida.
Griffin became the poster boy for the politicization of the U.S. attorney process. Former Justice official Kyle Sampson noted that getting Griffin into office was important to Harriet [Miers], Karl, et cetera. The traditional 120-day term for interim U.S. attorneys had expired for Griffin on April 20, yet the Justice Department continued to allow him to serve.

What is this Rove protege up to this time around?
Voter suppression?
Joining someone's campaign?
About to be indicted for past deeds?
Get out the popcorn
