National Health Service is doing its job

Our daughter lives in Yorkshire and goes into the hospital tomorrow - severe vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels), with infection in both legs. We are scared, but feel she's getting good care. This is an emergency and NHS is on top of it.

Given what's been going on here for the last few weeks, I can't help but compare it to our health system and what the Repubs say would happen if we had a single-payer health system. Someday we will, but maybe not in my lifetime. Sigh.

Also, thanks for the welcome. I've actually been here since Wes Clark dropped out of the presidential race in 2004. I mostly lurk, had close to a thousand posts when we simultaneously moved, got a new computer, got a new server, and forgot my password. I had to start over as a newbie, and have once again mostly lurked.
