Ann Romney: "I don't consider myself wealthy"

This is the problem in a nutshell

She and many others have absolutely no clue what it is like to live according to different incomes.

This also shows how narrow their vision is, and what kind of effort they have made to visit a sample of the different classes in America.

How can they even begin to represent the best interests of the majority of Americans who live with much less wealth. THEY CAN'T

Until they get off their asses and try to understand the people who are below their pay scale instead of those that are above it, they will NEVER push measures that truly help people. This goes for all elected officials and leaders of other kinds.

They are trapped in a real life version of a snowglobe. They stay isolated from everybody else. When that globe gets shaken, they would never dream of trying to get out of it. They put all their effort into maintaining their protected positions.

This snowglobe phenomena actually is endemic to many groups. They stay huddled in their version no matter how bad it is. The more they are scared, the less likely they are ever to break out. It's past time for everybody to try to connect with others.

Get beyond the screechers and find those who are silently suffering. Don't ever offer pity. Offer to listen and try to help. That is the only way to reconnect the people who are so divided from each other. There ARE decent people in every area. They outnumber the mooks by a lot.

Everybody needs to make an effort to connect and not give up if it doesn't work on the first try. Many people have never met others unlike themselves. They are hardened into believing myths they have heard for so long about those they don't know. A lot of us are too.

It will never be easy, but it will always be worth it.

You have a $20 million income and net worth of $250 million. How much more does it take? You have enough to cover every mortal need of your family for a generation or more. Every additional cent you "earn" takes resources away from someone else.

Tell ya what: give it all away. Pay people. Trickle it down.

When someone with as much money as you "does not feel wealthy", it's not humility. It means you're missing something important inside.

I guess that way she would not be wealthy, just married to someone who is... and mother to 5 sons who are.

It is the 49% routinely voting for their dumbass programs, the 49% delusionaly imagining that tax cuts for billionaires are somehow helping them, that I don't understand.

Then the SC House passed a measure that would in reality only help the rich. It was worded so it appeared to help all. He gave his Rep. hell, and is now an independent.

who did Supersize me. THe very first episode (streaming on Netflix was where I watched it) was where they spent 30 days living on minimum wage. They lived in a motel I think and only had their paychecks from working their minimum wage jobs. If you haven't seen it I would recommend trying to find it somewhere. It isn't on anymore and I can see why.... It actually showed two differing viewpoints and explored them. There was an episode where an anti gay religious guy went to live with a gay couple for 30 days. one where a guy whose job was outsourced to india went to india to live and work for 30 days. but that first episode about working minimum wage was the best one. It showed a lot about how it's nearly impossible to get out of that place.
