Ted Cruz Is the Republican Party

Although many pundits describe Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as on the fringes of the Republican Party, a new Democracy Corps poll finds he's actually right in the ideological middle.

Tea Party and evangelical segments of the party make up over half of all Republicans, and these groups think very highly of Cruz. He scores an 81.8 positive rating among Tea Partiers and a 75.9 rating among Evangelicals.

Among moderate Republicans, who make up just a quarter of the GOP, Cruz scores a 51.0 rating.

Own it, GOP.

Republicans and the Tea Party are one and the same, and they are all bat shit crazy.

In Texas, for the last decade, those that now address themselves as the "Tea Party" have been actively trying to take over the Republican party. They just have a name now.

They believe they are annointed by God to run the country. There's no arguing facts with them, and certainly no convincing them to think for themselves. Why, if God told them to do it, it must be right!

Full disclosure - I'm Christian, but I don't think that God talks to anyone, and I certainly don't think he tells someone that they should run for President (ala Rick Perry). In fact, in my opinion, it is extremely blasphemous for someone to suggest that God has spoken to them because it would suggest that God loves them more than all of his other children. Further disclosure - no one has to believe as I do.

is hearing voices and as such is insane. Remember Bush said god told him to invade Iraq. Not to worry, the NRA wants them heavily armed.
It's fair to say normal people don't want to go to war because some teabilly heard a command from God, nor do normal people want schizophrenics packing heat. Unfortunately the mentally infirm have seized control of a major political party. Anyone saying the crazy is equally spread around is lying and they know it.

Please, please let it be so.

The only problem is ReThugs have been know to cheat and win elections by any technicality possible, fair or not. Suppose Cruz "won"? I can't even imagine how horrible it would be should he and the Teabaggers run this country especially if they held on to the house and got to appoint some SCJ. Now that's what I call scary and could lead to violence.
