Sign the petition for the FCC to investigate Limbaugh... and there's one for Bill Maher?!?!?

Here's the link to request the FCC investigate Limbaugh's use of public airwaves:

http://wh.gov/9XY

And there's one for Bill Maher too. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Maher on paid-for cable programming? Not AM/FM radio stations? Do people not really know what the difference is?

He was also very rude to Studs Terkel on a show I saw years ago. Maher made a rude comment to Studs because Studs for being old and hard of hearing.

Maher is the stereotypical Hollywood liberal. He is arrogant and full of himself.

Yes, the FCC rules are different for paid cable tv. But, that doesn't mean Maher isn't full of crap much of the time.

HBO and Showtime don't have the censorship that public broadcast airwaves have. If Rush wanted to take his schtick to XM radio, that would be fine. Rush doesn't belong on the public airwaves asking Fluke who bought her condoms for her when she was 12.

You are right that he is arrogant and full of himself. I think of Hollywood Liberals to be more like George Clooney and the like.

Yes, Maher has said sexist things. So has Jon Stewart. So has Randi Roads.

Difference is, Maher called out a public person, running for office, noted for her stupidity.

Limbaugh called out a private person and flat out said she was a slut for wanting birth control.

Big differnce.

Maher used bad words too. That's all that counts wiht some. Never mind he, Maher, uses descriptive words against specific people, unlike Russ's broad(no pun intended) brush insults.
So therefore, in some people's minds, Maher=Rush.

In reality, there is no real comparison. Rush is a scumbag dealing in propaganda, lies and spin. Maher is a comedian. Rush brings darkness, Maher brings insights.

Limbaugh's on AM/FM public airwaves, and consumers need to pay money to get Maher's program.

There may be some on the left who really do hate Maher and are using this as an excuse to attack him, but I don't see how anyone can honestly think what Rush and Maher did are comparable.

Vulgarity is of course, vulgarity.

How we may rationalize one over the other says more about ourselves than it does any tin gods we may hold up to high esteem. But in the end, we of course will hold some to higher standards than we hold others, and justify that through imaginary mechanisms.

Fail in that regard. He got on HBO so he could be free to say what he pleases. He was already taken off the public airways by a network.

whitehouse.gov to have the FCC investigate Bill Maher. I thought my "?!?!?!" would indicate that it's ludicrous to point to someone's objectionable behavior, on a subscription service, and to think that someone that means Rush shouldn't be held accountable for his behavior on the public airwaves.

Perhaps, I was wrong in thinking that my "?!?!?!" would infer more meaning.

What Maher did doesn't light a candle to the three straight days of Radio Rwanda treatment Rush gave to Sandra Fluke.

Maher's guilty of what? A few off-color remarks? That's nothing.
