Former first lady Laura Bush spoke about one of her favorite subjects education at a luncheon Tuesday in Omaha.
The wife of President George W. Bush talked about the importance of giving every child a chance to excel at a fundraiser for Phoenix Academy, a nonprofit school in Omaha that helps children with learning challenges.

(90,773 posts)4. Her hypocrisy. She speaks of children and I wonder how much concern she had for all the children
murdered because of her husband.
Her husband is an admitted war criminal and she's all smiles.
Ick.

(54,027 posts)5. She puts a pleasant face on a political machine that's out to destroy the social safety net
She doubtless is convivial and compassionate human being who shares with us liberals a lot of the same goals for a better society. But her net effect on the political equation is to make an obnoxious, corrosive faction seem. less destructive to the public welfare.
