Colbert Mercilessly Mocks Fox News Psychiatrist For Obama Diagnosis

VIDEO here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/22/colbert-fox-news-psychiatrist-obama-diagnosis_n_4142703.html

Stephen Colbert took aim at Fox News' resident psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow on last night's "Colbert Report." In response to Ablow diagnosing President Obama with a "victim mentality" that could be traced back to his father's abandonment, Colbert took a tongue-in-cheek approach to proving what a ridiculous diagnosis Ablow dished out.

"We've seen this sad story too many times: African-American males without role models go onto become president and give everyone healthcare," Colbert joked. "One must ask, how was he able to yank such an insightful diagnosis so smoothly from his ass?"

A must see hilarious awesome video

It's what he needs. Seriously. How's that for an equally ridiculous psychological diagnosis?

....evaluating that person IN PERSON in a CONFIDENTIAL CLINICAL SETTING. And even then said psychiatrist would keep his/her conclusions CONFIDENTIAL.

Any psychiatrist who diagnoses anyone "remotely" without having ever met the person in question is IMO a blazing CRACKPOT.

He practices in person in Manhattan and Boston, so I assume he's licensed in those two states. He is board-certified.

Master of self-promotion. Used to write novels and work in a State-funded MH clinic. Then he got hooked on stardom after was a defense "expert" for a cross-dressing Podiatrist who killed his wife. Howard Stern, RW radio, complete sellout. Narcisstic Asshole--that's my diagnosis.

He's a disgrace. Armchair psychoanalysis by a professional is unethical and harmful. He's nothing more than a sideshow, with respect to sideshows.

No competent doctor would make such a diagnosis without first examining the patient. Oh, wait, Dr. Denton Cooley gave VP candidate Dick Cheney a clean bill of health just 4 months before he had his 4th heart attack. For a fee you can get whatever diagnosis you want, it seems. So much for fee paid expert testimony.

So, if PBO was never his patient (of course), there's no medical malpractice. I would think the doc could be censored by his state medical board for overstepping his authority or some such violation. I think it brings disrepute on the psychiatric profession, imho.

All the patient has to do is mail in a video in which he explains his symptoms, and they'll diagnose him.

in Obama. In my humble opinion, he doesn't see to take criticism very well. That is just my observation from watching him a lot over the years. I am interested in how to relate to an over-defensive person I am close to - and I never thought of parental abandonment as being a root cause. Since everyone seems to be just trashing the source and not discussing the subject.

When he sees a problem he admits it, fixes it, and learns from his mistakes.

Obama reflects on his biggest mistake as president

snip//

"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president said, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."

"It's funny - when I ran, everybody said, well he can give a good speech but can he actually manage the job?" he said. "And in my first two years, I think the notion was, 'Well, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?' And I think that was a legitimate criticism."

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57471351-503544/obama-reflects-on-his-biggest-mistake-as-president/

What he doesn't brook are the stupid brainwashed lies spread about policies that are trying to help the American People.

It's no wonder that everyone is "trashing the source" since it's not really a legitimate source at all.

Is that in the DSM-5?

Why do right wingers always try to act like standing up for yourself or someone else is being a "victim"?
