http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/10/22/paul-ryan-hhs-secretary-should-step-down-over-obamacare/(CNN) - Rep. Paul Ryan on Tuesday joined a growing list of Republicans who want Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to step down over rampant problems in the launch of Obamacares HealthCare.gov.
The 2012 vice presidential candidate was on a conference call with reporters Tuesday afternoon helping fellow Republican and Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli make the case against a Medicaid expansion in the state championed by Cuccinellis opponent, Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
Cuccinelli has already said that Sebelius should step down. When Ryan was asked if he felt the same way, he responded: I do agree with that.
This rollout has been a fiasco, the House Budget Committee chairman said, and not just because they have bad tech, but because the entirety of the law is flawed.
Sebelius gave members of Congress the impression the health care websites launch would be flawless despite knowing otherwise, Ryan said.
I think some people should be held responsible, Ryan said.

(20,851 posts)such that this program would have worked better? The answer is none. He like most conservatives made it hard for them to do the very basics of their job and then wonder why a better job wasn't done. Ryan as usual passes the buck for his own parties failures.

(1,555 posts)He and the rest of the know nothing "minions of st. ronnie" (and I don't capitalize names who don't deserve that respect) are just grasping at straws. The ACA technical team needs to get to the root cause of the issue, likely sloppy coding done by the lowest bidder for a high profile project, and get the fixes then applied, test and get it up & running again. Idiots like ryan and his ilk only want to affix blame and escalate problems vs waiting a reasonable period - and 2 weeks isn't a reasonable period - for the system to stabilize and get into 'enrollment as usual' instead of acting like someone's hair is on fire. However, if ryan's hair were on fire, I'd gladly stomp on his head.
With so many red states not wanting to run the exchanges on a state level vs. funneling everone to the Federal site, there's no way to test for 7 million hits to a site, and the lower number of state exhcanges has helped contribute to the problems with the Fed site. But that's too much common sense for the dopes on ryan's side of the aisle.
