Mitt Romney may be in a decent polling position going into Super Tuesdays contests, but his viability in the general election is already damaged, according to Democratic super PAC Priorities USA.
A strategy memo by co-founder Bill Burton attributes Romneyslousy national polling, especially bad with independents and working class whites, to a toxic combination of perceptions that hes an out-of-touch millionaire and policy proposals that reinforce this view.
Between Cadillacs, NASCAR and $10,000 bets, Romney certainly has done his fair share to demonstrate an inability to understand the economic challenges facing most Americans, Burton writes. But more importantly, Americans understand that Romneys policies would primarily help himself and other extremely wealthy individuals at the expense of the middle class.
...
Concludes Burton: While Romney seems likely to limp to the Republican nomination with this monopoly on the wealthiest voters, he will enter the general election as a millionaire whose nomination was ensured by millionaires after he promised policies to benefit millionaires.

that memo is a winner!
I just read this comment:
Look, not saying Romney isn't a weak candidate. Not saying his wealth and his incredible tone deafness about it hasn't hurt him. What I am saying is this.
It's still freaking March.
The election is still eight months away. Who knows what could happen in the intervening time between now and then. Let's not take anything for granted or get complacent for one second. There's still a heck of a lot of work to be done to ensure Barack Obama remains President.

Yeah, it's March, but Romney isn't going to change, and what's wrong with hitting him from now until the election?
People seem to think this is an either or situation. Democrats can do two things at the same time: continue to do the work that needs to be done and continue to smack down Republicans.
