WASHINGTON -- Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Sunday opened the door to Social Security cuts as part of a budget deal with congressional Republicans. But Durbin pushed back against GOP calls for entitlement cuts as the negotiating price to curb or extinguish the economically damaging sequester cuts.

He's my senator. I keep voting for him. He really pushed for Senator Obama to run for president. He has the president's ear about things like social security. Damn am I angry.
I hope the dems don't cave on social security.

support he has for cutting Social Security. He wants the attention but he also wants to protect his Republican allies for the next round of unified attacks on social programs and civil rights.
