To appear on the GOP ticket in Laurens County in South Carolina, candidates must now sign a pledge that they have never had premarital sex -- one of "28 principles of Republicanism" that aspirants must agree to honor. They also include: a ban on pornography, opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage and advocating for gun-ownership rights. The resolution, passed Feb. 28, requires candidates to meet with a three-person subcommittee, who will make recommendations to the entire executive board. We're sure those "prove you haven't had premarital sex" queries are gonna be real interesting.
