Scarborough says Paul Ryan voted for the government shutdown and against raising debt limit but...

...he wouldn't have voted against raising the debt limit if his vote made a difference.

In other words, he did it for purely political reasons?

A couple of days ago, Joe Scarborough made this point on his morning show and it sort of stuck in my craw.

How many other Republicans followed the Tea Party "Pied Piper" for purely political reasons? And just how dangerous is that? Do we really want someone like that running for President?

I'm not sure that Paul Ryan's vote was purely symbolic. I think he would have voted the same way if he had been the deciding vote?
