So, in 2006 a single US official with 35 world leaders' cell #'s turned that info over to the NSA.

The document notes that one unnamed US official handed over 200 numbers, including those of the 35 world leaders, none of whom is named. These were immediately "tasked" for monitoring by the NSA.

Could this be anyone besides Dick Cheney?

But I don't see her or Powell as doing things that way. It could lead to blowback (as we're seeing) making their job a lot more difficult.

Cheney, on the other hand . . .

Only reason I'd drop Bolton to #2 is that I don't know that 35 world leaders would give him their #. Cheney, they probably had little choice.

role in the intelligence community. Cheney is the fall guy. GWB is not and never has been an idiot. But it's mighty convenient for people to regard him as one, innit?

Cheney gets paid well for his role. As you can see, he pops up and takes it on gladly, publicly. One more thing. Funny how all GWB and GHWB's intelligence BS is being leaked during the Obama Admin. To hurt Obama...
