Composing a survey for a TeaBagger about his sources for hate/lies about OBAMA & Dems

There was this thread about "a nuclear level of hate" http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023900622 for OBAMA and I've got this minor dilemma with a TeaBagger, I say "minor" because I won't blink about shutting off contact. There's an eternal question about whether politics should be a factor in all relationships, whether it's possible or desirable to be friendly with opposing ideologues, how to deal with family-friends like that.

So this Marine at a watering hole is easy going, pleasant, greeting, fairly interesting on neutral topics, but goes blind with rage at just a news clip about OBAMA. I mention his veteran status just because wingnuttiness is rampant at VFWs, but this isn't a VFW, and his service was U.S. based and he doesn't identify overtly with the gung ho style.

Our contact was at the greeting level for a year or two, but we've had a few longer conversations in recent months, almost all at the neutral level, although I searched out the politics early on and we have let that dog lie. But with more talk, the FURY rears its head bit by bit more.

What still surprises me is when wingnuts are at the "Dems are food stamps people" mental level. Crude, stoopid stuff. This dude also believes that OBAMA is for "redistribution of (wealth)" and that Rethugs DO NOT use voter suppression against minorities.

It won't hurt me a bit to terminate this interaction, but I *am* very curious about his SOURCES, which go BEYOND the Faux Propaganda Network. Even if we know the code language Faux uses, the stuff this dude spouts is BLATANT, EXPLICIT.

I'm drawing up a flyer, suggestions welcome:

* We acknowledge that we are very opposed in politics and this affects our acquaintance, possibly might end it. But before we go...

* When I say you are WRONG in your "facts" I am not saying you, personally, are stupid or I am smarter.

* I *am* very curious about where you get your (mis-)information: (Faux)News? Where else? It goes beyond (Faux) and (LIMBOsevic). Even to the KKK or skinhead level.

* In our (geographical) area, Dem is the norm, so was your family anti-Dem or did you sort of rebel?
