Glenn Greenwald Drops Name in Europe - Gets Attention

Reporting on governments spying on each other would not normally be newsworthy, but Mr. Greenwald has made something of a science of it, carefully calculating timing to achieve maximum notice. At the beginning of launching a new news service, he is working hard to stay relevant and newsworthy.

In the meantime, his primary source is forgotten in Russia. It is Glenn Greenwald who is the star now, and you will not be forgetting his name soon.

There's often a lot of ego wrapped up in online personas, sometimes along with some even less savory personality characteristics.

I'd be surprised if your ego was any less likely to bask in adulation than my own, you know who writes your words as much as I know who writes mine.

Since clearly you object to writers doing what they have to to make money in this day and age?

Why single out one journo over the others who are "bringing journalism down"? This is a principled stand you've taken before?

Maybe it's just me, but I find myself a way lot more concerned about what the NSA is doing. Privacy rights, etc. "Silly me", sorts of things, ya know. Moreover, were I not concerned with the NSA's activity, I wouldn't be as cranky about "SnowGlen" as some appear to be.

But, like I said, that's just me.

BTW, you put GGs name in the title of the OP. Maybe instead of posting GGs name on DU, all you NSA-apologists should just get a GG poster to hang on the wall and throw darts at it. Might calm the nerves and help with the hyper-ventilating. Worth a shot.

It's not the same. The life of Greenwald is not being reported these two last days. The spying is. You exaggerate when he said he became the story. He might be the story to you and others who dislike him, but that doesn't generalize into everyone.

Meanwhile the Russian files are still secret and the Bank of America files were never released.
