I'm reading this article about how Minnesota turned its Republican centered politics around in the years following Senator Wellstone's death. The beauty and success of their effort had me wondering if those same tactics could be employed in North Carolina (and it gave me hope that with the right formula we can create a better working state that doesn't stomp on its citizens).

I want to ask Jeff Blodgett (anyone know him?) to help NC out, bring Camp Wellstone to the Old North State and help an already 'on-fire' group (Moral Mondays) get even more focused and reign in other groups to build on their organization.
That article linked me to one about the day Senator Wellstone died (still get angry, still don't trust in the 'accidental' nature of it) and I found out that Paul Wellstone had a North Carolina connection - he attended UNC.
I'm thinking that this is something he would have approved of very much. Now to make it happen.

(5,342 posts)Get it started while everyone is energized. The atmosphere is perfect for this, with many moderate R's feeling disgusted and not wanting to participate and so many Dems disgusted with what has happened in NC.

(8,577 posts)I think it could help a lot of dems. Its very hard to talk politics around here; the belief tends to be that you don't discuss politics or religion. The dem party here in my county is moribund, so moribund we barely have one.
