I have been through the entire process and will be paying my first premium next week. I have gone back from time to time to check the website and found similar problems just trying to get into my account.
I just tried it however and it seemed like everything was working quite well.
Curious if there are people who are applying what they are finding.
If you have tried very recently please let the rest of us know what you are finding.
Thanks

(37,457 posts)I'm in no huge hurry, I'm just trying to save money on my coverage.

(8,155 posts)One moment my identity has been rejected, the next it's being processed. It just depends on how many times I log in too check. Links are also dead about half the time. Pages don't load fully. Information is lost.
I've spoken to two different persons. One via chat and one over the phone. Both were generally incompetent and did not have answers to basic questions. Neither helped me AT ALL in getting my application processed. I was told over and over again to simply try again later.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed in the application process so far.

(8,155 posts)Although the problems were clearly much worse in Chrome. Safari seems to work the best so far.

(53,061 posts)I never know when outside events will force me to stop working, for example the government shutdown forced me to sit at home for about 4 weeks.
Also I want to get my membership number from the insurance company so I can start making appointments for my wife and me for the first week of January.

(53,061 posts)You are not officially enrolled until they get the payment. Once they get that they will issue a card and a number, and more importantly add you to the data base that the doctors use to see if you are covered.
When you call to make an appointment you need some reference number so that the doctors can find you and make sure you are in the system.
You could make an appointment without that but then if there is a problem you have to deal with it when you arrive, so I want the doctors' office to confirm the insurance coverage when I make the appointment, and they appreciate it as well.
If you have the number you don't actually need to have the card showing insurance coverage.

(5,330 posts)Had to use Internet Explorer 10 as Firefox 24 kept freezing on a blank white screen after logging in. (I had made my account successfully a couple weeks ago and was able to browse plans finally after several failed tries.)
Even with Internet Explorer, it timed out the first time I clicked on ENROLL, showed up as as aborted attempt. But the second time clicking it was the charm. (At least I hope.)
They said to expect paperwork from the insurer in a few days, first month's payment due before Dec. 31 for policy to go into effect January 1.
Just waiting to make sure it all went through.

(5,330 posts)I have a feeling there will be A LOT of people signing up at the last minute, the week before New Year's.
I just wanted to get the process underway, just in case there are any "issues."
I'll give them until the end of next week, if I still haven't heard anything I'll give them a call.
They're a pretty big network, with lots of established providers. So I'm looking forward to being covered for the first time in my adult life.

(22,920 posts)I did this two weeks ago. No problem whatsoever. I'm in NC, btw.
I received my eligibility PDF.
The next stage is choosing a plan. I did receive an error at this stage and am simply going to call to get help through the next stage.
