There was momentum going over the other issues with bills being passed in Virginia and Oklahoma (personhood bills); the VA ultrasound bill, etc. Women were pissed and already coming together to fight those bills. Rush misread the political climate and stepped into a big pile of shit of his own making. This time, women were ready and had had enough. It's all about timing.

You have CEO after CEO going "oh this isn't the kind of family friendly political commentary we expect from Rush Limbaugh. We don't want our name associated with it" I say to that "oh horse shit, its the same show he's had for 30 years." These companies were happy as can be to sponsor hate speech when no one was pushing back on it hard enough.
