Christians refuse to tip waiter because ‘homosexual lifestyle is an affront to God’

A group of customers refused to tip their 20-year-old server at a Carraba’s Italian restaurant in Overland Park, KS on the grounds that his homosexuality is “an affront to God.” According to KCTV Fox 19, the server went to the table after the group of customers left and found a note explaining their decision.

“Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours,” said the note. “We hope you will see the tip your queer choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’s love, but none shall be spared for queers. May GOD have mercy on you.”

Friends and supportive customers plan to dine at the restaurant Friday evening as a show of support for the waiter who received the hateful note. He has declined to give his name or go on camera and has asked people not to try and give him money.

I've seen that a lot from the exhibitionist evangelicals; if a guy is delicate looking, or well groomed, or looks like a hipster, or not involved in a service job that involves heavy labor, sweat, and the potential for blood, he's automatically assumed to be gay.

Or perhaps one of the group knew the waiter, or there was a closet case in the group who's gaydar was on.
Or they were just in the habit of doing that to all male waiters (because real men wouldn't ever want to be waiters after school or between living wage jobs, they'd do day labor construction or retail selling masculine items (electronics, cars, hardware, beer) to support themselves until they got themselves a "real man job" and "a real man family&quot , and just happened to pull that little trick on someone who really was gay and let the world know what happened.

Too many of those evangelical "God Warrior" types think resturant work is "make do" charity type wimmin's work, unless you're a cook or dishwasher.

I've also worked shipyards, and honestly, I would take installing a 200' electrical power run any time over waiting tables. And not just because the money's usually better.

I used to live in LeHay (author of "Left Behind&quot central, and had to deal on a day-to-day basis with enough of that "look at Us, We're so Godly" judgemental type of "Evangelical" for me to call them a "that type" group.

To these people who set themselves apart, waiting tables is for "wimmin". Nursing is also for women. Teaching pre-school or elementry school is for women. House-cleaning/caretaker work is for women. Grooming (pet or people) is women's work - well, except for good old-fashioned barbering. Fabric piece-work (sewing), dry-cleaning/laundry, or tailoring is for women. Cashier or bank teller work is for women. Men who work women's jobs - are just like women.

Unless it's them, personally, of course - if a "Good Evangelical Man"' is working one of those jobs, they're doing Gawd-Alrighty's work, and that's where Gawd lead them.

Direct from the mouths of these storefront church type sort.

It doesn't say anything about how or why they assumed he was gay in the article.
