She played the part of anti-NSA very well, but it was a charade.

She was very much supportive of many of Bush's war on terror policies when I joined citing instances of Al-Qaeda attacks. She even opposed the ground zero mosque.

are considered "right wing." By a small, strident crew of purists, anyway.

How dare we compromise to get the majority in both Houses of Congress? How DARE we be pragmatic so we can prosecute the President's agenda! No, no...we must stand on principle, and get reamed every damn day of the year, not get a single thing we want, because we don't dare be ideologically "impure."

It's a load of steaming horseshit, that argument--and it's one that people "trolling from the left" use most frequently.

Anytime a Democrat gets elected, it's BETTER than a Republican getting elected. Anyone who doesn't see that has a serious comprehension problem.

You look like you showed up last month on your profile, thanks to transparency that is DU3. When you start talking like an old schooler with a profile that is a month old, it sets off alarms. The default thought is "sock using the wrong persona," frankly--we've seen enough of that in election years past.

Skinner has said that people can abandon their old usernames and start anew, but most people who do that let others know. I wouldn't blame anyone who had, as a username something that , say, was cheering on John "What a disappointment" Edwards for wanting to change their name one bit. Other usernames just are dated, and don't wear well over time. Some folks are loath to abandon their post count, but others don't care.

I have been accused of it, pretty funny and annoying. I told afriend of mine and she said "are they nuts"?

I have issues with some of the gun posters here but I understand them being from the country. Republicans are another story. I am not fond of foxes in the hen house .

I did not think I was DU material since I am not an in your face kind of Democrat, but I have become one in the past year or so. I respect most of the people who post here, there are a few that make me wonder, but by and large they are good people.

The troll thing is troubling to me in a couple of ways, one because people are actually coming here to cause trouble which makes no sense, and two people here accuse good people with good intentions of being trolls.

It also seems like many of the long term members are always skeptical of any of us with fewer than 10,000 posts .

I enjoy my time here.

Many here are not in your face democrats, some are, some are not even democrats, it goes with the big tent idea. People have been trolling here since the early days, some of us are used to it and us old timers know how to spot them. Usually they have low number post counts and not much longevity, they also use certain sources and or make comments which begs for further scrutiny. Which would explain the 10,000 post thought. As far as putting people on ignore, I have never done that. I fear they may have something to say that would never have occurred to me. If they are trolls, then they will not last long here, so why bother. All I can offer, is develop a thick skin if you intend to stick around for a while. People disagree and debate various topics on DU, thats what makes DU a great place to come and LEARN. I can honestly say that I have grown as a person through the discussions here. I love DU, its my place of higher learning, even if I get flamed once in a while. I have had my ass handed to me more than I can count, but it made stop and think. A newbie posted this the other night and I enjoyed what this young person had to say, I will gladly share it with you.

And in every disco, there was some dude selling coke, and over by the bar, or hanging out near the women's restrooms, an old guy with the affect of a child molester in a leisure suit with the medallion tucked in a rat's nest of graying chest hair, divorced or separated, always trying to score with "the young chicks."

to do was see her username to know the kind of RW bullshit she'd be spouting. While she always irritated the hell out of me, her complete cluelessness regarding public education and what teachers endure every single day, and her relentless cheerleading for charter schools and constant bashing of teachers, REALLY pissed this daughter of teachers off.

And you could ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS rely on her to defend any illegal actions of police officers, no matter how unwarranted, brutal unprovoked and inexcusable it was. I believe she even defended the police who murdered the African immigrant in New York City several years ago with FORTY ONE shots, thinking that he was getting and holding a gun when he was holding his fucking wallet and minding his own goddamned business. I'm sure she'd stridently defend this cop who murdered the 13-year-old boy this past week.

She also took great pains to stridently defend any civilian who killed a minority, no matter how unprovoked and inexcusable (including, I believe, that motherfucker in Florida who killed the unarmed teen in the car with "loud music", using a bullshit SYG "defense" shortly after the Martin shooting). I believe her catchphrase was "we don't know all the facts yet", even AFTER the discovery and trial were over and all the lights had been shut off. SOOO glad to see her finally gone.

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Fri Oct 25, 2013, 12:26 PM, and voted 2-4 to LEAVE IT ALONE.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Forbes' 'reporter' wrote it. It can be discussed on DU. It violates nothing.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: "Enough of this troll already." amen to that. Everything he posts, everything he comments on is right wing propaganda. He is a troll. WHY is he still here after all this time?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Really? I think I'll leave this open so people can have fun.

when serving on the MIRT team and it is my duty to do so. I simply never noticed that one - other than their anti-ACA talk. Considering that the ACA was essentially what would have been considered a "market-based" conservative solution to a problem that would have been the kind of program most conservatives and Republicans would have supported only a decade or so ago before the Republican Party went completely wacko and before the Democratic Party started embracing "market-based" conservative solutions - It was only natural that traditional New Deal Democrats would have opposed or at least been highly skeptical of the ACA. But this one did seem to go beyond a critique of the Democratic Party's long term drift to the right on economic issues.

That is some impressive trolling. Sadly, I'm a far left liberal who has been here almost since DU's inception yet has not even managed to come close to this person's legacy. I guess I need to eat more bullshit so I can drop turds with the best of them.

Everyone's DU is different. Everyone has a different group on ignore or not on ignore, goes to different forums.

I only put belligerent asshole and obvious shills on ignore. I just regular ignore ignore the annoying ones.

This is a community and like any other community you need to police it. This community put up with a Right Wing troll for 10 years and finally had enough of it. The Right Wing troll is now eating worm dirt.

dkf was obviously and clearly a right-wing libertarian.

dkf never missed an opportunity to push right-wing economic positions, but stood up very vocally for civil liberties.

DU definitely has to deal with quite a lot of conservative, right-wing nonsense and framing for some reason, and the conservatives get to attempt to discredit leftists (while failing) here far too often.

It takes a lot of persistent, bull shit negativity and since 2004 I think I'm running about 98% for eventual tombstones (or whatever we do these days).

Of course we are talking about 10 to 12 people total, so don't be too impressed.
