Here's why I love my partners (Pro Flowers Story)

I have two partners. Both are women. Today, a box from Pro Flowers shows up on my doorstep with a return address from my partner in Austin. Big leftie that she is, I'm wondering what's up with the box from *that* company.

I edited out her name. She sent an identical order and card to our other partner down in Virginia.

I love my partners!

Many, many years ago we had a client who was a misogynistic asshole. He would refer to my other partner, to me, with her present IN THE FUCKING ROOM, AT THE FUCKING TABLE, as "one of your gals." I repeatedly asked him not to do that. She, on the other hand, was willing to let it go. In business, she told us, we have to learn to deal with such shit, and that she'd dealt with it all her professional life. (She was the one who taught me a fair amount of the business many years before this incident.)

The partner who sent the flowers today used $1,000 of our money to buy a multi-year membership in NOW in that client's name.

Like I said. I love my partners!
