Martin kept after him. It got fairly uncomfortable when Alan told Martin that possibly "those who attack people condemning racism are enabling racism". (Not an actual quote, I don't remember the exact words, but it is an accurate representation of Grayson's final response).

Answer: NAACP years ago asked Tea Party to rid themselves of their racist spokespeople. They refused. Tea Party is the home of today's racist atmosphere just as KKK was in the past.

Bashir says the KKK killings, lynchings and terror make the comparison inappropriate.

Grayson holds firm. No apology.

and I appreciate that every once in awhile, you have to toss a grenade into your enemy's bunker to let them know that your normally calm demeanor doesn't mean you are weak and are surrendering.

I have yet to hear more than one rethug elected official (and the one was some obscure member of the House) denounce the idiots in front of the White House waving confederate flags. If anything, the rethug leadership is too fucking lazy to even bother - even if on behalf of their membership.

You don't win in politics by being nice. Good to have Grayson calling the Tea Klux Klan what it is.
