Maybe Obama Doesn't Want To Piss Off The GOP. They Might Shut Down The Country Next.

I still think that Obama believes that if he conciliates the GOP and sends messages about entitlements that they will be kinder and gentler.

He does not come out with full aggressive support of unions. He meanders around of entitlements. He rejects the Grand Bargain kind of. He does not come out fully supporting a living wage. His minimum wage is too low and weak.

I am tired of all this half ass shit. He shits on his base most of the time or takes it for granted.

And we wonder why we lose in the public arena. His "ropa a dope" strategy leaves a lot of us guessing. You get momentum by taking the offensive even being blatantly offensive.

He may have stood firm but he also gave the GOP an opening in some ways.

Maybe he has taken a big drink of the deficit kool aid and has actually bought into the Simpson/Bowles bullshit.

Maybe it isn't appeasement but agreement.

Not sure which is worse but you seem to be advancing the theory that he's still trying to suck up to the people that can't stand to look at him. But perhaps the answer is much simpler.

before the shutdown and based upon "trust" of the GOP keeping the Pre-Shutdown agreement.
I believe they had no choice but to hold their ground because if they hadn't then the focal point might have been more on the earlier "broken trust" agreement-which sucks for us and benefits Wall Street-Again...follows the Ryan Plan Plus---made Sequester Cuts Permanent....
So, When Aren't Dems "worried and afraid of" the GOP? Or is it "hidden corporate cooperation"?

I know right? Like just last week I sent another email to the White House specifically requesting that the president invite me to come kick it with him and the girls. Where's my invite?!?! I've sent like 3 emails. Does he even give a crap what I want?
I wanted single payer and this guy was like , "B, I don't have the votes for single payer, we will have to do the individual mandate, allow for state public options in a few years, and slowly move it to a single payer system." I told him though, I said, " ok, I'll take it, but I'm not happy"
I wish he'd just use the bully pulpit and just force bills throughout congress through sheer will alone but I learned something watching cartoons with my kids.
Did you know there are three branches of government?
And that the congress and the senate have to pass the bills before the president can sign them?
I know, weird huh?
It seems the president can't just do whatever he wants and has to get people to agree with him.
You'd think these guys were just sitting around trying to stop him from governing.
But that would be crazy, right?

the Repubs shut down our government. Unfortunately, it was not permanent support. Each issue will have its own momentum for or against.

if he comes out with a very liberal message? They have been trying to destroy him since day 1 and they haven't succeeded. Perhaps he knows what he is doing.
