I know vanity posts aren't looked upon particularly favorably but after ten years of posting and accumulating nearly 50,000 posts please indulge me.
There was something about him or her that just wasn't right. It seemed DKF almost invariably fell on the conservative side of every argument except when he or she was taking positions to the left of the president such as on the NSA controversy. it was if DKF and the president could never be simpatico.
But DKF's latest attack on the Affordable Care Act was beyond disingenuous.
I can't believe he or she argued that President Obama sabotaged his own website so people couldn't use it and find out how bad the Act is. That makes no sense at all... If it is bad they will find out eventually and conclude the Act and the website suck...
Now, with the midterms and 2016 election on the horizon we should be vigilant for the bad poll troll(s)...

(65,616 posts)to write essays on why he was the most brilliant everest poster to bless DU and should be let back in on triple probation. That was after he took the Host forum hostage and demanded 3 cases of rum and a fast ship!

(99,711 posts)Nader's not my favorite politician but that guy was obsessed.
Didn't he make some kind of street video about him where he kept repeating his name.
Rex
(65,616 posts)Don't know about the video, but he would have a regular "Fuck Ralph Nadar" thread every day or so.

(99,711 posts)What was his "jump the shark" moment?
Rex
(65,616 posts)went ape shit and held the host forum hostage (I have no idea how) and demanded to be made King of Meta or something. I too missed all the actual flameout, but was here for the fallout and it was hilarious. The row upon row of swords and loud noise of people falling on them over his dismissal was as epic as his banning imo.

(65,616 posts)But the fallout was illuminating. You would have thought Skinner banned the Beatles! I could hear people crying through their monitors.

(75,480 posts)much disingenuous AstroTurf, because that is what it was, about entitlement programs. In the early days of DU he/she would have been buried under factual information by many informed and intelligent DUers who have since moved on.

(8,361 posts)but this crowd has done a pretty good job of putting dkf in their place with factual information.

(75,480 posts)I tried to correct dfk many times but new posts would appear every day with the same misinformation. That is when I came to the conclusion that dfk didn't want to learn but to spread right wing talking points. The fact that this person accumulated so many posts just shows there aren't enough informed posters here anymore to either correct them or out them as the disrupters that they are. The proof is in the numbers.
Violet_Crumble
(35,977 posts)If as many people as before weren't replying, it probably meant a fair few had put dkf on ignore or did what I did, which was not bother replying to anything they had to say. That in no way makes people uninformed, it makes them smart, imo.
DU really hasn't had the dumbing down that yr implying it has...

(89,264 posts)between the various issues which always took the conservative position on. they also seemed to stick on a few specific issues at a time rather than troll the entire forum on every issue. so this gave people the perception that it was just about that issue .
they were good in avoiding personal insults though and that's one of the reasons i'm guessing it was hard to ban.
also a lot of the stuff was like "why didn't he just release the birth certificate earlier" and claim it was about just getting past the issue. as if the right wing birth certificate crap was a serious position with serious concern that if we just did this they would move on.
a lot of things would be said in a questioning way rather than them saying that was their position . for example "did this really ..........." "why didn't x just.........................." type of stuff.
but they seemed to lose it over this obamacare this just like the rest of the right wing . i think things like the republican poll numbers , re-election of obama etc added to it all.

(111,339 posts)but that last post was right out of Freak Republic and the PPR duly arrived.
We do have recovering Republicans here and it's necessary to deconstruct some of the funny ideas and cockeyed equations they still have. A few have exposed themselves as trolls. The rest are coming around, little by little.

(41,692 posts)I read it and then headed to Ask the Admin and asked the Admin when they were going to wake up. I hit the post my reply button and went back to the thread where I found out he or she was banned. It was that fast.
It had nothing to do with me hitting up the Admin---they decided before I even asked.

(24,780 posts)It takes hard work and above all discipline to be a great troll. DKF was/is good at it. I suspect he/she will register another account, lay low for a while then "someone new" with a couple thousand posts will start to catch everyone's attention next year. DKF is that disciplined.

(18,672 posts)I did a search and found I was on the other side of the argument that this person was. They were sort of rooting for the wealthy landowners. I have to say that this person should probably receive an award for the best troll ever. They managed to log a lot more posts than many hard core liberal old timers. That takes a bit of restraint since the average troll lasts less than half a day here.

(32,886 posts)#1 - The skill, patience and relentlessness evidenced by their tactics and the time invested.
#2 - The way he/she knew exactly when to fall back to "I just want to strengthen Social Security and Medicare" and "I really want Canadian style single payer" just when things were closing in on them in order to make people just unsure enough about them to avoid banning.
