How much should it cost (adjusted for region) to live humanly?

How much should you have to pay to be considered human and worthy of human rights?

How old should you be?

Of what skin "color?" Sexual orientation (as determined by birth)?

Of what economic class?

What does the Bible/Koran/Torah say is required to be considered human?

Credit score?

Checking account balance? Stock portfolio?

Acres of property owned?

What are the standards by which one is judged human and deserving of human rights?

Imagine that.

Which of the several genders defined is required to justify human rights?

Do the eggs have any claim to human rights and property? Or is it only the spermatozoa?

Must the eggs be "fertilized?"

Must the spermatozoa have found a "mate" or are they "individuals?"

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. At the moment, a space on a couch in a utility apartment rents for about $1,100.00 per month according to Craigs List. I just bought a four bedroom house in Tucson with a pool and my PITI is under that. I guess it's all relevent. I bought a home in Tucson for $168,000 that would start at $800,000.00 in the bay area. Is that relavent? To my retired ass it is. Oh, and for what it's worth, Tucson is as blue as San Jose!

In that context, it's not ridiculous at all. It's about thinking not real estate.

Humans have no value whatsoever. Humans are frivolous in western religious terms. They glorify death and some hereafter, not the value of a human. Though traditionally Judaism is the exception with no afterlife, but that lead to Christianity and Islam which is all about humans being sinful and bad and death is the goal. Oh there are the nice stories with Jesus and little children etc. but the end game for western religion and most others for that matter is what's after being human. That puts the value of humanity at zero.

I've asked similar questions as well. Healthcare is around 18% of GDP. Not everyone pays that flat (due to subsidies and what not), but the economy is reciprocal and in some way or another, everyone feels the brunt of this; it is strangling the economy as is. On average, 1 out of every 5 dollars Americans make go to the health industry. In the next few decades, it is projected to be 2 out of every 5. How many more hours do people have left to pay for food? To pay for housing? Will people have any extra hours left to purchase things needed to make the economy go forward? To be happy? To send their kids to college? And now this cost is mandated upon the nation. Do Americans simply work to live (not to be fulfilled or pursue happiness)? Is that in itself good enough? Is Utopia a world where all our needs our met through labor (via our social contract), affording us no means to have our desires fulfilled? In such a world, are we anything but robots? This is the type of stuff to get you dfk'd

BTW, I didn't mean to go off on a healthcare tangent. I think a big part of living humanly is healthcare, and the US has made such a big business out of it that its getting in the way of all other aspects of life that may define a humane existence. And in my personal opinion, it should cost an individual nothing as far as healthcare is concern, insofar as they can afford nothing.
