Can somebody from WA help me debunk this RW bullshit just sent to me by my brother?

"Not sure if those signs are down yet!!!!
You want to see something better than Burma Shave? These are
Northbound on I-5 (88 miles south of Seattle )...

The federal government is now petitioning to have these signs removed or Washington state will be denied additional monies for interstate highways.

The State of Washington replied, they will secede from the Union rather than be intimidated. These are a matter of free speech paid for by a private citizen.

It seems the Obama government uses intimidation and ignores the first
amendment when they want to silence someone.

These signs are priceless.

Bravo for the state of Washington Northbound on I-5 near Chehalis, WA (88 miles S. of Seattle )."

I've been using Photoshop for 15 years and still use it everyday, just a sign (don't know who would have a sign holder in their front yard) taken over a season. He must take it down and put it up to change the messages. Same trees, some during the summer or early early fall while the leaves are still green and some pictures now where the tree's have lost their leaves. All trees (from whatever view, front or back) have consistent branch structures with or without leaves. I think it's a double sided sign so it can be seen either way.

IMHO.

Who know's maybe your right.

I've just seen so much Photoshop over 15 yrs one can usually tell. Usually when images are composited the lighting doesn't match. Takes an expert to make that go away w/o any tell tale signs.

I'll have a look again but nothing popped out right away.

PS..I actually live in Washington, have for a while, and am very familiar overcast skies and their lighting as opposed to clear skies.

By the way, Washington state has the largest number of people (to this point) enrolled in the ACA. Maybe that is what inspired this. Plus the person putting these up demonstrates a lack of how government works and is not paying attention to current events. Based on the last 5 years of interaction between the Congress and the President I don't believe he thinks "We the Congress" as stated on one of these signs...............
There is a person who owns some pasture or farmland that adjoins the freeway and that is where I've seen stuff like this. It also explains the lack to trees.

This is obviously one sign with two white boards mounted at opposing angles. The looped wire, a missing portion of black frame on one white board, and the black diagonal line in the lower corner on the other white board, in every shot, give it away. This is not photoshopped, someone has just repeatedly erased and changed the message. That being said, if your brother bought into this garbage in the first place, there is likely little anyone here can do to help you bring him back to into light.

HOWEVER, the government is probably within it's rights to have them removed if they violate public ordinance but otherwise it's probably just really bad public artwork.

IF they are removed, it will because they break some other law. Like they are billboards that you need to pay to use.

They will probably be left alone as public statement as long as no laws are broken.

The last time WA state Petitioned to secede was in 2012. http://www.king5.com/news/local/Second-petition-launched-for-Washington-to-secede-from-US-179354261.html

They did not reach one or both of the thresholds, because the petition is no longer on the website https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions

Thresholds:

AS OF JANUARY 15, 2013:

To cross the first threshold and be searchable within WhiteHouse.gov, a petition must reach 150 signatures within 30 days.

To cross the second threshold and require a response, a petition must reach 100,000 signatures within 30 days.

That uses old whiteboards inserted into a metal frame like realtors use. Look closer... they have convenient bent wire -- maybe old coat hangers? -- handles attached to eye-screws for easy removal, and you can even see the surface smudges from past messages.

It's a fake. If they were really actual billboard in size, you'd need a heavy crane to lift out the text sections, and something far more substantial than a piece of bent wire and two eye-screws.

57. Hamilton Farms Billboards on I-5
Thu Jan 16, 2014, 01:08 AM
Jan 2014

The big billboard sign on the northbound side of I-5 was originally located about 8 miles further north on the southbound side, and after numerous people decided the 1st Amendment only applies to things they happen to agree with, tried the same "forcible closure" so the family moved the sign to its present position on private property outside the easement zones.

The signs in the pictures are NOT from the Hamilton sign, which is a huge "standard" sized freeway billboard. The only place around the Chehalis/Centralia area with a background like that and the trees is in Centralia at the Main Library, or in Chehalis by the park and pool. Neither of which are visible from the freeway.

The old man was a bit of an extremist, though as some folks noticed the son isn't quite as far out there as the dad, but they, along with the majority of the nation, not only disagree with what the current administration is doing to the U.S. and has already done. I can't say I always agree with the sentiments they express, they at least have the courage of their convictions to speak up.

I generally avoid politics as much as possible, because I just don't handle stupidity, corruption, theft and the "politicians over people" mentality expressed by both sides, if you are still naive enough to believe there really are more than one party with differing names. I was the lead columnist for the Centralia/Chehalis Chronicle for a couple years until undergoing chemotherapy, and as such used to have to do a lot of research, and the one constant thread throughout history has been the inability to remember history. and connect the dots.

So, before I end up WAY off topic...the "freeway sign" is a hoax. If you HAVE seen the real sign (yes, originally this administration threatened to cut off funding for roads and bridges) and it really bothers you, call up just about any Hamilton in the phone book and let them know how YOU feel. Stand up! What YOU say and feel is just as important and right for you to say as it is for them to express their opinion. The more we turn to "government" for our problems, the more liberty we give away, along with the power to get it back.

"All that is necessary for evil and tyranny to triumph is for enough good people to do nothing."

In closing, I would like to point out I was a humor columnist in one of the most RW kooky extremist counties in the state, and though it kind of scared me when my column called "It Could Be Just Me" became the lead, but even though I wrote pieces that were intended to smile, chuckle or laugh, I received some very nasty emails over the slightest of jokes. I would usually reply and explain it was humor, but in some cases my template reply was: "Dear Sir or Madam, this is just a quick note to inform you some lunatic is harassing humor columnists and they're using YOUR name! I just thought you should know." My point being any time anyone voices an opinion, be it right, wrong or indifferent, there will always be someone who strongly disagrees, even to the most harmless of subjects, but never let that stop you from voicing YOUR opinion too, while we still can.
