I posted to my Facebook page about Lou Reed's passing, a simple: "Oh no! Now Lou Reed. Rest in Peace."
The first response:
"I am a triumph of modern medicine," Reed posted on his website on June 1, 2013, without directly acknowledging his liver transplant. "I look forward to being on stage performing, and writing more songs to connect with your hearts and spirits and the universe well into the future." I guess modern medicine wasn't so triumphant after all!
What the fu*k is wrong with someone that they leave a response like this?

(18,219 posts)That is an insensitive thing to say, and totally unnecessary. It just didn't need to be said out loud. And that is what I would probably answer back on that post.
I don't know how this ties into religious people, although you know this person and I don't. I just see this as an ignorant post by someone who isn't thinking. But regarding "modern medicine", I don't see how a liver transplant does not fall into that category.

Actually, it's hard to tell who posted what.

(14,910 posts)I guess the context is kinda lost here.
I didn't really think it through all the way before posting.
However, the response is most definately heavily steeped in their religious viewpoint.

I'm sorry someone on Farcebook is a religious jerk, it's certainly never happened before.
(for the witless and recovering Republicans, )
I'd introduce that person to Mr. Block.
