Anyone visited a Halloween "Hell House" this season?

OK, we've all had our laughs at the Kentucky Creation Museum's last days; what about the Hell Houses run by fundy churches to show the horrors of sin, sin, sin and the horrors of Hell. Are they still popular?

I've always assumed that people went mostly to laugh; probably teens and 20-somethings get stoned to visit.

They want parents to drop the kiddies at the front door so the kiddies can be traumatized and turned from the fundy definition of sin without the parents to comfort them.

That in itself is a terrible sin but fundies will never get it.

Here's what I posted in another thread about a Hell House in Tulsa, OK.

There's a church there called (and I'm not kidding), "GUTS." Every year they put on a hell house. I decided to check it out one year. They do go all out for it. It's a pretty big one taking up all of one of their facilities - including a large gymnasium for the lines to get in, and when I was there, it was filled to overflowing.

The rooms I remember was one with a drunken driving accident, a girl who had killed herself in a bathtub because she had had an abortion (the walls were covered with names - written in "blood" - that she could have named her kid), a rave room, and then the final room had an illusion known as, "Girl to Gorilla," that they were using to change a man in a suit into Satan and back while some audio track preached at you... I actually gasped and exclaimed, "Girl to Gorilla!" and got some dirty looks from some of the workers in character in the room.

You leave the building, and the exit and several hundred feet beyond are covered by a huge tent where members of the church are waiting to preach to and try to convert you. One young girl was apparently so shaken up (probably by the abortion room), that several counselors surrounded her to "comfort" her. I caught of them sneaking furtive looks at each other, grinning as if to say, "We got one."

A young hipster came up to talk to me, and I said, "Before you start your spiel, can you look me in the eyes and honestly say that Jesus would approve of this method to convert people?" He wouldn't meet my eyes and said, "Have a good night, sir."

Other than that, what sticks out in my mind was that the hot dogs at the outdoors concession stand were REALLY good.

This is a link to an online comic called, "Something Positive." It's the beginning of a storyline of one of the characters going to a Hell House. Click the next links to go through it. It's pretty funny and gives a pretty good representation of some Hell Houses.
