That's 51 percent of the 2008 total. McCain got almost as many votes as Romney and Paul combined.

(116,464 posts)but Mitt got fewer votes than the top two candidates last election cycle. Paul got nearly five times as many votes as he did in 2008.
It appears the Not-Romney vote may have been in effect here.

(37,540 posts)the big picture shows a distinct lack of enthusiasm for Republican candidates this cycle. If they can't turn the base out in the primaries, the marginal Republican voters and are going to be MIA in November.
