So, according to the GOP, closing the WWII Memorial and the Nat. Parks for a few weeks is a moral outrage that shouldn't be allowed. (not to mention that they are the true cause)
But 900,000 veterans getting their Food Stamps decreased and having to go without food is a great victory for America.
Priorities?
Let's not get into how different the MSM's coverage of these is.

(4,305 posts)I can't stand to think of all the little poor kids, some tiny kids too, who will be living on a slice of bread for supper, and their mom says, We have to save all the milk for breakfast. And then it will be Thanksgiving time, but they won't have anything much, maybe cheap turkey tv dinner for the lucky ones, and then it will be Christmas time, with ads trumpeting huge TV sets as "the Family Gift" and huge glowing dolls and Lego sets blaring at them on TV and other kids showing off big presents, but they don't get anything or maybe one cracked smudged little thing and a candy cane. And they begin to say to themselves about anything good, "It's not for you; it's for the other kids." and "That'll never work, it'll only make things worse." Gee, I wonder why they don't seem to have any ambition (sarcasm).
Of course we have to fight this thing, and restore that food stamp money. Meanwhile, we have to get these military active-duty people and veterans through the winter, and their kids too, and the other people who work hard every day, and their kids too. Food banks, soup kitchens, poor kids charities, senior citizen charities, Native Americans charities, homeless shelters, veterans relief groups, toys for tots, whatever. At least get them through this winter, until we can do more.
