He was born in Mexico. Was he born on a military base?

(8,556 posts)The law stated that in such situations, the parents had to choose one or another citizenship for their child. They chose American citizenship. Had he not dropped out, his birthplace might have been used against him, but in terms of eligibility he was on solid legal footing.

(36,437 posts)If you are born to at least one American parent abroad, you are a natural born citizen. If my pregnant wife and i travel to Canada for a short vacation, and she suddenly gives birth, the child is an American citizen, natural born.
Enough of this nonsense already.

Obama was born in the US and people question the documents.
Yet the George Romney documents would have been more extensive (requiring documentation on the parents) and yet they were not even demanded, let alone not scrutinized for fonts and such.
Just like McCain's weren't. McCain should have, if judged by the same standard, had to come up with his birth certificate and his parents' birth certificates to determine his citizenship.
