Perhaps it was controversial at the time (1990) because Derrick Bell was protesting Harvard ... but it's 2012, so who cares?

Seriously ... Derrick Bell was upset because Harvard "failed to offer tenure to women of color as law school professors." That's not a radical position for Obama to support. Actually, I'm proud of him for standing up to Harvard!

I would have thought that a pro-Obama person put this out to promote him and show that he has always been a good speaker and that his heart has always been in the right place. It really makes Obama look good.
