In Illinois the bill has passed both the Senate and House - BUT Governor Quinn has scheduled the signing ceremony for November 20th and marriages will not begin until June 1, 2014.

So, if the Governor of Hawaii signs the Hawaii bill before November 20th and marriages begin December 2nd...

... then it looks like Hawaii might bump Illinois down a notch

"destination wedding" set. MA saw a noticeable bump in tourism for that very purpose.

Why is the Out lesbian voting no? Is she a Republican? Clueless? Or is she in a relationship where she really doesn't want to commit and doesn't know how to say "I don't want to get married?"

Governor will sign this, right?

He is why they were there voting on this in the first place. The out lesbian is not a Republican, nor was her district opposed. She claims she voted this way due to trying to protect religious freedom.

Funny how the right talks about that kind of stuff, but they endorse policies with the reverse effect.

There are also some legal cases pending that may change things in other states.
