Twice I observed some strange body language that I haven't quite seen anywhere else. In short, the men bobbed their heads like those little dog toys you see in the rear car window and the overall feeling was swagger. Seriously, I felt like it was some kind of man message that seemed wholly inappropriate.
Should I be concerned?

(9,469 posts)so I googled it and found someone who posted this in response to a person going for a job interview. it included the definition so i'm copying it here for you.
Don't forget the McCabe Nod. This works really well when asked a question and you start of with a positive statement that turns into a cooperative statement.
"I think we'd agree that a strong willingness such as mine is a powerful benefit."
(during the time that you make the statement, begin to nod up and down, slightly)
Try this one on people you know and watch how many of them start to mimic your behavior.
As someone once said, "if I can change your body language, I can change your mind."
I have used the "McCabe Nod" many times, with many positive outcomes.
Just make sure you don't sound "forced" when you use it

(46,765 posts)Happened on three separate occasions from three different individuals who were part of a community conspiracy, or supported those who were.
This is the first scenario: My husband's young cousin had come to visit us and during the week he was ready to leave to continue on his travels. My husband was out traveling so I had the kid follow me to Denny's for one last decent breakfast. Except, there was no Denny's. It had closed sometime earlier. So the kid gets his I-Phone out and finds another breakfast place. It's up the road. We drove in separate cars because he was near the interchange and had no reason to come to the house since he could say his good-byes from the restaurant.
The place was a greasy spoon. There were four patrons on one table which had been observing us when we walked in. They were two couples, probably early sixties. One of them, who reminded me of Fat Bastards thinner brother, began quizzing the boy, wanting to know where he was from. Even after we sat down to eat the man sat with his arm on his hip, bobbing his head in an obvious look of disapproval.
It was disgusting. It was not a nod. And it was not benign.
