Barton: Drinking Starbucks Is Like Committing Treason Against God
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Tuesday, 11/19/2013 1:37 pm Several months ago, David Barton told an audience that they could not continue to patronize Starbucks because of the company's support for marriage equality, declaring that "you can't drink Starbucks and be biblically right." Given this position, it was no surprise to see that the guest on today's "Wallbuilders Live" was Chris Walker of 2nd Vote, an app designed to allow conservatives to know which companies support liberal policies so they can avoid shopping there or buying their products. As Barton explained, shopping at places like Starbucks that support a liberal agenda is basically like committing treason against God:

And we do some of this for our side also.
We're just a lot more honest about waht we post and put on radio or TV.

(509 posts)I usually make my own and buy their whole bean coffees. They taste pretty good to me, although I like the lighter roasts. At work I am stuck drinking Folgers so maybe that explains it.
What do you think is the best brand of whole beans that is widely available?

(4,112 posts)however, their Gold Coast coffee, now known as "Morning Joe" (I know, gag me!) is the best coffee I've ever had, including $40/lb Hawaiian Kona.
The next time I am dragged in there by someone I will have to try it. Thanks for the tip.

(15,386 posts)A young cousin of mine posted something about Chick-Fil-A and homosexuals on Facebook (yeah, she's a little behind the times - this is apparently her hearing about it for the first time), and that started a polite shitstorm of replies, including one from my very conservative, religious niece, who talked about supporting the right kind of companies. So I had to mention that the beverages they sell, the credit cards they accept, the computers and operating systems they use, and the cars you drive to the restaurant are all very much pro-gay.

Starbucks Guns Policy: Coffee Chain Asks Patrons To Leave Weapons At Home

***snip***
Starbucks' long-standing policy had been to default to local gun laws, including "open carry" regulations that allow people to bring guns into stores. It has nearly 7,000 company-operated U.S. stores.
That policy had frustrated U.S. gun-control advocates, who have persuaded many other restaurants and retailers to ban weapons in their stores and worked hard to get Starbucks to follow suit.
Schultz underscored that Starbucks' new policy is not a ban - employees will continue to serve patrons with guns. The request also does not apply to authorized law enforcement personnel.
"I don't want to put our people in a position of having to confront or enforce a policy (when) someone is holding a gun," Schultz told Reuters.
