(113,474 posts)"kid with glasses"???
"smart black GIRL"????????
you might want to rethink such derogatory terms, seriously. PROFESSOR Melissa Harris-Perry is well over the age of 18, as I assume the "kid with glasses"

Genesis 8:22 "...as long as the Earth remains there will be seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, night and day."
Well, I guess that settles that! Case closed.

can she top Lawrence O' Donnell's roasting of "Joe the plumber"?
Lawrence gets a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eye when he is given such opportunity. The discussion had the feel of leading a lamb to slaughter.
Another impressive roast was Chris Mathews speaking with a senior spokesman for the Gingrich camp.
The guy couldn't answer on if Newt had ever voted to raise the debt ceiling. To paraphrase, Mathews told him he was just a "money guy" and probably shouldn't be expected to know such things. Still, Mathews informed him that he should know such facts before railing on the President about raising the debt ceiling. In the end, Mathews expressed sympathy and decided to end the segment on a lighter note.
Rachel is a living "fact storm" that is too nice to bite into an exposed jugular. Perhaps intended behavior in an attempt to lure more GOP guests. Regardless, she is poison for Republicans that come in unprepared and they know it.
Rachel used her kind demeanor to gleen every bit of campaign strategy possible from a Ron Paul spokesman. She has sinced used that information to hammer on Paul whenever he is deemed worthy of mentioning. She gets the goods using the "gracious" approach.
Unlike O'Reilly, Rachel allows her guests to have their say, keeps the tone amicable, and her discussions ultimately prove to be much more revealing than O'Reilly who often comes across as a lecturer. O'Reilly refuses to allow guests to present their case. His excuse for doing so is that he is in a "no spin" zone. He will invariably interrupt with emotional displeasure to "stop the spin". For me, it makes him more difficult to watch than even Sean Hannity.

(47,675 posts)That's part of what differentiates her from the FOX talking heads. She asks questions and waits for answers rather than asking "Don't you think the (something a Democrat said or did) is terrible for the country?"
