(48,181 posts)I've got newz for youse alls: private health insurance plans routinely limit your access to doctors and hospitals and have been doing so FOR FUCKING DECADES.

(27,315 posts)I am not arguing it is normal. A good system should include the majority of the resources available, but it is nothing specific to ACA.

Many practices and hospitals are in wait and see mode.
Negotiations are ongoing.

Sloan-Kettering spokeswoman Caitlin Suzanne Hoo, said Wednesday that the hospital was still talking with insurers.
We want to be accessible and expect to be in network with one or more ACA plans, she said. She added that patients currently undergoing care shouldnt worry about a disruption. We would never stop a patients treatment because of a change in insurance or financial situation.

So yeah, maybe they're not accepted YET, but nothing goes into effect anyway till January 1, by which time they "expect to be in network with one or more ACA plans"!

(23,156 posts)are either in their plan or not in their plan. This is hardly breaking news. Other than those who wish to destroy the ACA want us to think that this is something absolutely brand new and previously unheard of.
