Fox attacks wages of working class maids

You just gotta love Faux. So, apparently CEO's making god knows how many millions or billions per year by shipping their manufacturing to China and paying workers slave wages are a-okay, but hotel maids making $60,000 per year is a "nightmare" scenario.

What's even worse for Faux, these, these greedy workers get...hold on, brace yourself...it's quite shocking...FULL HEALTH BENEFITS! Oh No!

"Fox Business News recently ran a segment criticizing a collective bargaining agreement struck between workers and management in New York City's hotel industry. Analysts on the program called the deal "a nightmare," singling out the provisions raising wages for housekeepers as “shocking.” Fox's reaction is consistent with its past coverage of worker's issues, which has portrayed union efforts to secure higher wages and benefits for the working class as an affront to capitalism.

Fox appears to believe that a maid living on $60,000 in New York City is overpaid. But in February 2010, on the same program, Fox Business Analyst Chris Cotter claimed that living on $250,000 is "very, very tough" in New York. He made this claim to argue against an effort to raise taxes on the very wealthy."

One Faux anchor even has the temerity to say, "It's shocking how much they make," referring to maid workers.

If you ever need any proof of what Faux and the Republicans have in store for America, this clip is all you need. It shows that no matter how hard you work, they simply don't believe you are entitled to a decent living. Do you have any idea the kinds of crap that hotel maids have to put up with? The stress, the nasty things people leave behind in their hotel rooms, and doing it all day in and day out? As far as I'm concerend, they deserve $100,000 per year.

doing a difficult job? Or that they get full health care benefits and don't have to rely on the government of charity when they or their family members fall ill?

People with money can buy things. They understand that they have rights and the ability to use them. They understand that they are more than just pawns for the 1%. They can afford to go to school and got one of them "librul" educations. These things are not good for the 1% and their efforts to control everything.

Victories like these also demonstrate that unions are actually good for working people, not something the right wants after decades of demonizing them.

So natually, Faux hates this type of thing.

that is wrapped into this - A panic button. Being a maid is a particularly vulnerable occupation. That is why you usually see two of them working together.

$60K if their union can get it sounds reasonable (even if it is isn't just so long as the negotiation is fair so what). What I want to make sure is that every maid is entitled to work in this country. That will help in holding the wages up.

Hotels are also free to go with no maid service for multiday stays. Give the lodger $5/day for no maid service, and it will cut down your number of maids. I wonder how much maid service and additional towel/linen service costs per room at $60K/yr plus benefits.
