one that started the train wreck and then was surprised when it derailed. At least Nicole Wallace had the guts to speak up. I don't blame her for telling the campaign that she did not want to work with Palin anymore. It was a lose-lose proposition for her.

Schmidt is still a political operative. They as a class are "win at any cost" (BTW my typing is not to good today...I first wrote "sin at any cost"...which is kinda the same thing ) But I have seen him and he has been truthful with his opinions. When I say "truth" I mean maybe not factual.... certainly not honest because that is a different word that means a different thing.

When I have seen him on air with Rachel, she may have to goad him a bit, but he says what he really believes. I like that.

With Wallace she really came out "the redemptive spirit". Solid R vote I don't think so. Obama vote probably 50/50. With enemies like Paiin you can only be wrong 50% of the time.

Schmidt and Wallace know the game. You have to look into every detail of the candidates life. That is the "vetting" process.
If they lack intelligence as Sarah Palin does, then you choose someone else!

edit: Steve Schmidt is one of the worst campaign managers ever!

He proved himself incompetent.

When I think of the consequences of a Palin presidency I want to shake Schmidt.

slipping through the vetting process with professionals, AND with an unstable, unintelligent, immature woman with such arrogance as to put herself above the Presidential candidate (McCain). Unbelievable!

Out of fear that Sarah Palin could POSSIBLY become President one day.

Great Movie. Behind the scenes it was a million times worse than I even thought.

didn't surprise me though. She was sooo in over her head. And I think she did it because in her little world in Alaska she was high in the ratings and knew her state and could debate just fine…she should have realized though if she had any brains at all that they would ask her a lot of stuff she knew nothing about.

But obviously she didn't watch real news or read about it to know what she didn't know!!

When they were teaching her my husband said its like she is in 4th grade when they pulled out the maps.

he has been invaluable to MSNBC's coverage to the dysfunctional GOP campaign. If you want to know what Republican operatives' thought processes are during this train wreck, Schmidt fills the need.
