Bob Dylan Sued by Croats for Alleged 'Racism'

Bob Dylan was a prominent supporter of the U.S. civil rights movement, but that isn't stopping a Croatian group from suing him for "racism."

According to Business Insider, a Croatian community association based in France is suing the rock icon over comments he made in a cover story in Rolling Stone.

In the interview, printed last year, Dylan is asked about parallels between the 1860s and present-day America, responding that the U.S. is "too fucked up about color. It's a distraction. People at each other's throats just because they are of a different color. It's the height of insanity, and it will hold any nation back -- or any neighborhood back. Or any anything back. Blacks know that some whites didn't want to give up slavery -- that if they had their way, they would still be under the yoke, and they can't pretend they don't know that. If you got a slave master or Klan in your blood, blacks can sense that.

"That stuff lingers to this day," he adds. "Just like Jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood."

there is no such thing as "Nazi blood." And as the Croat Council says, "You cannot compare Croatian criminals to all Croats".

He knows all about America in the 1860's

and he apparently has discovered a new sense...where you can sense a person's ancestor's blood.... which has something to do with what they think of other races and religions.

Amazing.

Let's all sue him for being a complete moron.

history impacts the present. He's not trying to be a politician or philosopher. He's expressing some views and opinions metaphorically as he typically does. No law should be against that. This really is a non-story. I think a government should have bigger fish to fry.

I'll take DNA tests before my "sense" that somebody might have slave master/Klan blood. In fact I think it'll take some words or actions on someone's part before I decide they might have Klan-like thoughts.
