See reply 2 for the update.

The second time he gave up booze it lasted the rest of his life. Dad died in 94. He was a Storz and Grain Belt Connoisseur as long as I can remember. Grain Belt bought Storz in the 60's. After a while Storz disappeared from the market. Then Grain Belt also disappeared, but only temporarily. The new owner of the Grain Belt brand is doing it right.

The Storz family is using a craft brewery in Lincoln to produce 4 different brews at this time. I had one each of the Triumph and the Gold Coast. The family lost the original recipes with the sale to Grain Belt. These updated versions aren't bad. But Grain Belt will stay my brand of choice. That is my old bubbling Grain Belt sign I use for my avatar.

Triumph Lager

Drink up and try the beer that made Storz famous like you’ve never tasted it before. Golden. Crisp. Refreshing as the whole outdoors.

We took everything good about our world-famous, award-winning brew and built on it. First, you’ll notice the smooth Pilsner and Munich malts. Second, you’ll notice you’re ordering another one.

The Nebraskan beer Nebraskans love. Welcome back.

Gold Crest Amber Ale

A full-bodied amber, the name of this beer pays homage to the award-winning show horses bred by the Storz family. Flavorful and savory, trot this brew out on any occasion.

From the copper-gold hue to the Caramel malt, this savory, sweet beer is second to none. Our founder made it a winner; we made it gold.

I hadn't seen Bud or Eric in 10-15 years. Old stories. Football. An beer. Dad's beer after the long hiatus brought dad back to mind better than the stories did.

That is the point of the post. And now you know.
