Why is no legitimate candidate for president running on ending the War in Afghanistan?

Ive seen several polls that this war is very unpopular among both the left and right. Around 50% of Americans want us out of it.

In the 1960s-70s politicians of both parties (in primaries and general elections) ran on ending Vietnam.

Why is no one talking about it now? Why is the focus on Iran and not ending a long and unpopular war?

2. Actually Huntsman ran on ending it. Of course you saw how well he ended up doing. Paul

On some levels, the folks who say there isn't much difference between the two major parties are right.

about ending the war in Aghanistan automatically becomes illegitimate. Just look at Paul, Kucinich and I think Hunstman who never really had any support outside his sugar daddy father.
