Scott Walker Tells Supporters To Forgo Buying Children Presents, Give Money To His Campaign Instead

The War On Christmas may actually be happening this year, but it’s being waged by an unlikely culprit: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R).

Last week, Walker’s campaign sent an email encouraging supporters not to buy gifts for their children and to use that money instead to support his reelection effort.

“Instead of electronics or toys that will undoubtedly be outdated, broken, or lost by the next Holiday Season, help give your children the gift of a Wisconsin that we can all be proud of,” the email read.

Here is the email in full:

But I guess the governor will give no present to his kids?

[I certainly have no problems for a call to buy less present and use the money to give to food banks and charitable organizations, but not to the Walker campaign, and I find very tacky to propose that].

This said, if people could spend a few dollars less in present and give them to charity, it could be useful.

Wisconsin. His promise of not having "billion dollar budget deficits" is not only laughable since Wisconsin must balance their budget according to law, he has in the current budget taken about $500 from the "rainy day fund" or whatever they call it there.

Oh, and the "freedom from dependence on government" basically means if something happens you're on your own. No food stamps for you.
