By Josh Lederman - 03/05/12 01:10 PM ET
Top officials from the Democratic National Committee and President Obama's reelection campaign have warned the party's House and Senate committees not to expect any financial help this year, a Democratic source confirmed Monday.
Obama campaign staffers Jim Messina and David Plouffe told House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that no cash transfers to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee or Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will take place ahead of the election in November.
But Obama and other White House officials will still appear at fundraisers for those committees on a limited basis.
The decision to make clear ahead of time that its House and Senate committees are on their own financially reflects a realization that Obama's reelection efforts will require everything the campaign can raise even with Obama's decision in February to give his blessing to a super-PAC that could alleviate some of the ad-buying pressure on his official campaign.

(41,358 posts)since we prefer to donate to the DNC anyway? If Obama's money is not going to the States and local races, does it mean that the DNC's money is only going to those races?
Frankly, seeing the Republican candidates that Obama has to run against, I don't see what's so hard about the next election.

(1,435 posts)now he wakes up because HIS election is at stake. I'd rather give to the senate and house races, Wqrren in Mass, and whoever dems put up in Maine also other close races in country, we need to keep senate this cycle.

(86,005 posts). . . a report put out weeks ago, intended as a wedge issue to set Democrats against each other; or to make it appear that there's a wedge.
You have to question the motivation of folks who push stories like this. It certainly didn't come from party leaders, despite the 'Democratic source' cited in this almost month-old gossip.

(31,236 posts)If he's still willing to do appearances and fundraisers for those committees, what's the big deal? We are running against people who are able to write a single check to keep their preferred candidate in a losing race. That will multiplied many times over for the eventual Rep nominee.
Poutrage is so exhausting.

(2,424 posts)The national committee has to at least put up an opponent.
We locals can handle the rest. Just give us a viable guy that can get the local women stirred up about birth control.
Democrats are giving up in many vulnerable districts without even trying.
